FINALLY DONE GUYS!! oh thank goodness. I now have the freedom to shop and look online without guilt! It felt a little weird tying it to lent, and then having lent be over but not the detox! Now its ALL over! Unfortunately I did not have a huge shopping spree the day of our freedom, because its finals time, and I was a hermit for the most part. But i think celebrating the end of school and the detox will be a very satisfying shopping spree this weekend. I hope you all had so much fun if you made it to the shops and online!! Keep the detox in mind though! We were able to do it once! Maybe again? But a shorter amount of time 🙂
OH MY GOODNESS YAY!!! only a few more weeks guys! so guess who’s making a wish list- THIS GIRL! I have shopped at fortuity, kieus, and everywhere in the mall, looking for things to melt my credit card when i get the chance in a few weeks. EEK! so excited! cant wait
Addict about to relapse, over and out
HOW MUCH LONGER!!!! I am so ready to start spending for summer attire. I cant believe how close we all are though! Keep trucking on!
And speaking of fashion- check out the make a wish foundation fashion show on campus!!!
We can look but dont purchase till the end of the detox! Everyone feeling healthy and ready to relapse at the store? I AM FOR SURE!!
good luck these last short weeks 🙂
Well were almost there yall!! So close to the finish line. I went and got my nails done today (money spending substitute for shopping), and thought ok I could have bought those shoes at target for the $30 I just spent on these nails. But I did not buy the shoes!! I can only keep this up for so long. Hurry up final weeks!!!
Oh also going out of town to Texas… good luck to me for not buying ANYTHING on my shopping date with my cousin. good lord help us all…
Only a few weeks left!! YAYYY!!! I don’t remember exactly which day we are done though. But thats probably best so I don’t start a count down to my empty bank account. If I really bought everything I wanted these past weeks, I would be broke. But I think it has also been good for me in the sense that I have found other things to do and better things to spend my money on. My recent non-apparel purchase was ducklings. Yes baby ducks. They are only 3 bucks at Orchelins and they are ADORABLE. Its also a lot more entertaining than TV. And the most expensive thing I had to buy for them was their 20$ bucket home. Totally worth it. But this is what happens when I dont buy clothing. I buy random things.
Oh well, I’m not sorry. These little guys are cuter than any purse or dress I could buy.
I wonder if the random purchases will continue after this detox…
Amount of weeks since my last blog: 2
Amount of weeks since I’ve shopped: lost count, but hopefully its really close to 13.
Amount of items I have wanted to buy: 192372372938
Amount of times I have found a substitute to aid my shopping withdrawals: 5
What a crazy idea it was to detox, because I think my substituting is a worse idea. I have instead spent probably more money on beautician-esque items and gifts for others. Oh well.. soon enough the budget will shift.
Week… 1 million I’m assuming. I have not shopped. Even for st paddys day. Im going to make my own tshirt! So thank you detox, for making me sew more and buy less. Its helping my creative edge and portfolio. Even decided to make my little cousins their Easter dresses. They are so cute and love tutus and jewelry and dress up. Girls after my own heart. Just a few more weeks though right? Lets hope its quick!!
So lets review rules… does buying athletic wear for training, and necessary undies count as shopping if it was a) necessary b) not fun c) not really new and exciting stuff (im mean obviously not worn, but not trendy new shopping). I think i get a pass for necessities right? I wish I could say I bought a bunch of cute summer shorts, but instead I bought mom jeans, cut them up into shorts, added black lace to the pockets and heart cutout, and then used the pant legs to widen my military jacket. And that was before the detox. Anywhos, I hope my necessities werent cheating… I really am being good about not shopping… I hate it.
-Conflicted and needy
OK so I spent all weekend in Lawrence, walked down Mass Street many times, and did NOT shop. I wanted everything I saw in the window, wanted to buy everything at pacsun (online) and even was invited to enter in a design contest for modcloth.com I think I’ll do the last thing, and not the shopping. best of luck to all of us. and design instead!!!
Ok so today is the day that I would normally be dressed up in a costume for Mardi Gras with my family and friends in New Orleans. But what horrible timing with school and everything. As well as the Chinese New Year stealing its thunder. Probably with equally elaborate parades and costumes. But this year is the year of the snake I hear- not sure how I feel about my greatest fear owning this year… Oh well probably gave ed hardy some inspirationand fashion followers an excuse. Anyways- Mardi Gras costumes are the best. People get political, trashy, ridiculous, and drunk- and I’m not describing their attitudes, im describing the costumes too. Look it up online- probably through facebook, because I’m sure someone you know is there. Soo those were my thoughts. Love these random holidays. More than valentines day. And even though I have a valentine it’s still a ridiculous holiday for which I will not dress up for. In fact that may be a tshirt and sweats day just in spite of this pinkand red holiday.
So to rap it up- HAPPY HOLIDAYS and dressing in their fashion 🙂
