I made a black and white polka dot dress out of a firm cotton knit so I could be ready for spring! Prior to taking design classes at K-state, I knew how to sew but not how to tailor, which is why I stopped making things for myself. When I sewed clothing from home-sewing patterns, nothing fit right. Now, however, I make my own patterns. And they fit mighty well (though they look terrible on the hanger. meh.) I feel that the detox is somewhat easier for people who know how to sew and tailor, because it is a chance for them to make items for themselves.
